Description

This is a house dating to around 1800 in Ulverston, altered since its original construction. It is built with painted roughcast rendering on a slate roof. The house has two floors above a cellar, and two window bays. The windows are sash windows with plain reveals and projecting sills. A cellar opening is located on the left-hand side. The front door, situated between the bays, is accessed from a stone landing reached by two flights of parallel stone steps. Cast-iron newels and barleysugar balusters form the front railings. The door itself consists of two glazed panels above four raised and fielded panels. Chimneys are situated on the left and right sides of the building. The group value is that it contributes to the character of the surrounding area.
