Description

The coach house located to the northwest of Crackenthorpe Hall is a late 19th-century building that features stabling on the lower level and a billiard room at one end. It is constructed from coursed, squared rubble with quoins and has a graduated slate roof with stone coping and kneelers at the north end, along with a conical central vent.

The symmetrical front of the building is two stories high and consists of nine bays, with five doors alternating with four small windows. One of the windows is blocked, and one of the doors has been converted into a window. On the first floor, there are two windows on either side of a central loft door, with circular vent-holes positioned above. The windows have glazing bars, and all openings feature segmental heads.

At the south end, there are four similar windows, while the north end, which has been partitioned for use as a billiard room, includes a five-light mullioned window on the ground floor and a similar four-light window above, both with hoodmoulds. A curving ramp to the south of the building leads to a central coach door at the rear, which also has a segmental head. The building flanking this door on the north side has partly collapsed.
