Description

The building is a house and adjoining cottage, now functioning as one dwelling, located to the northwest of Sandford Hall. It dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with later additions. The house features an ashlar front with rusticated quoins and a cavetto moulding along the eaves. The east return is constructed of coursed, squared rubble. The cottage, added at the west end, is also made of coursed, squared rubble. Both structures have graduated slate roofs with stone copings and kneelers; the house has corniced stone end chimneys, while the cottage has a brick end chimney.

The house presents a symmetrical, two-storey, three-bay front, featuring a central part-glazed door set within an architrave topped by a segmental pediment, with sash windows also in architraves. The two-storey, two-bay cottage has a 20th-century casement window on the ground floor to the left, with the other windows being sashes, all set in stone surrounds.
