Description

The courtyard group with stables, coach-houses, and dog-run is located to the north-west of Warcop Hall and dates from the late 19th century. The outbuildings are arranged around a cobbled courtyard and are connected to the west wing of the house by an embattled wall that features a bell above the archway. The walls are made of coursed, squared rubble and are also embattled. There is a four-centred entrance arch leading into the courtyard. On the west side, there is a two-storey stable block that is attached to a coach-house. To the north side, there is a dog-run and a wagon shed, which are linked by an arched opening. Lean-to structures, some of which are partly ruinous, are found on the south and east sides. The buildings include some decorative carving and inscriptions that mimic medieval styles. This group of outbuildings is included for its group value.
