Description

The Parish Church of St Columba is a Grade I listed building that dates back to the 12th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from sandstone blocks and features buttressing beneath graduated slate roofs. The church has a two-cell plan, with chapels located to the north and south, and a south porch. Notably, the interior includes panelled box pews in the nave, all numbered, which date from 1716; one pew, located in the north-west corner of the nave, has the initials C.W. inscribed at the top of the door to pew number 42.
