Description

This milestone, located approximately 200 yards southwest of Lane Farm, is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of dressed limestone and features a rounded top with wide stop-chamfers on the front corners. The stone is painted black and white, with the inscription "K = Lon" on the west side and "Miln = dale thorpe 3 2½" on the east side. The number 3 on the west side has been painted over with a 7, which reflects the correct distance. There is a bench-mark on the east side, and a worn inscription at the base likely reads "To London."
