Description

This is a milestone located approximately 350 metres north-west of the junction with Pye's Bridge Lane. It is likely from the early 19th century and is made of dressed limestone. The stone is upright with a flat top and features deep chamfers on the front corners. It is painted black and white, displaying black sans-serif lettering that reads "MILNTHORPE 1¾" on the south side and "LANCASTER 12" on the north side. There is also a bench mark on the north chamfer.
