Description

This milestone, located near the turn to Mill Lane on the west side of Ermine Way in Arrington, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is made of limestone and is painted white with black lettering. The top is bull-nosed, and the corners are chamfered and stopped at the base. The inscriptions indicate distances to London (45 miles), Royston (7 miles), and Caxton (5 miles).
