Description
A row of six cottages, likely estate cottages, dating from the 18th century. The cottages are built with clay lump and timber framing, rendered externally, and have a long straw thatched roof with five brick ridge stacks, including one to numbers 151 and 153. They are arranged in a single range. The cottages are one storey in height with an attic space. Modern framing has been applied to the front. Although the cottages have undergone alterations, they were originally designed symmetrically. There are six gabled dormers, each containing a five-light casement window with leaded lights. At ground floor, each cottage features a ground floor casement window in an original opening, a single-light window divided by a transome, possibly to provide light to a pantry or staircase, and a doorway. Some of the cottages have been extended at the rear during the 20th century.
