Description
This milestone, located approximately 10 metres from the south end of Wimpole Avenue, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is made of limestone and features a bull nose top. The stone is inscribed and painted black with the distances to Whaddon (4 miles), Royston (8 miles), Caxton (8 miles), and London (42 miles). This milestone is part of a series and is the 42nd milestone from Shoreditch church.
