Description
The building consists of a barn and an outbuilding, which was formerly a kitchen or curing house, located to the south-west of Road Farmhouse. It dates from around 1700 and features a timber frame with weatherboarding, red brick foundations, and a gable wall from the same period, along with early 19th-century gault brick. The roofs are covered with pantiles and plain tiles. The barn has four bays, a rear aisle, and a northern bay that was originally partitioned and floored, possibly used as a granary. It retains its original side purlin in the roof, double boarded doors facing east, and a side door, along with a 20th-century stable door and a boarded pitching door above. The kitchen or curing house has smoke-blackened rafters and an inserted 19th-century brick stack. There is a boarded door with horizontal sliding sash windows to the right.
