Description
The aqueduct carrying the Kendal/Lancaster Canal over Peasey Beck was built around 1818. It is constructed from squared, coursed limestone and features limestone copings and a string course. The structure has two shallow elliptical arches with rusticated voussoirs and a central cutwater. Curved retaining walls flank either side of the aqueduct, which is approximately 30 feet wide and positioned at an angle to the direction of the canal.
