Description

The ice house, located east of Crofton Hall stables, is likely from around 1826, the same date as the stable block. It is constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a roof. The structure includes a sunken chamber with a vaulted roof, which is accessed by steps leading down to an L-shaped passage. This passage originally had four doors. The roof contains two rows of six iron hooks and is tarred and covered with earth.
