House now hotel. 1810-15. Red sandstone ashlar, channelled on ground floor, with string course, cornice and angle pilasters, on chamfered plinth. Graduated hipped slate roof with stone chimney stack. 2 storeys, 7 bays. Glazed panelled doors under glazed fanlight with side lights in stepped tetrastyle Doric porch with half-fluted columns. Raised central bay has tripartite window in fluted pilaster surround. Sash windows with glazing bars in plain reveals. C20 side door to left under radial fanlight in fluted pilaster surround. C20 windows, those on ground floor sashes with glazing bars, all in stone surrounds. Rear has sash windows with glazing bars, 2 tripartite; staircase window with radial glazing bars and some C20 windows. Lower single-bay extension to right. Interior has mahogany panelled doors in heavily-moulded architraves. Hall door with broad architrave and flanking niches. Dentilled cornices to several rooms; those rooms flanking hall have moulded plaster ceilings with centre medallions. Semicircular cantilever staircase with turned and carved balusters and moulded handrail. Side doorways to passages have panelled soffits supported by plaster figures.
