Description

31 and 33 Chiswick Street, along with No. 2 Currie Street, are three houses that form the end of a terrace, built in the 1860s. They feature Flemish bond brickwork with light headers on a chamfered plinth, with all dressings made of calciferous sandstone, some of which are painted. The buildings have a stone eaves cornice and a common Welsh slate roof that is hipped at the corner, along with original ridge and end brick chimney stacks.

The houses are two storeys high and consist of two bays each, arranged in a double-depth plan. They are situated on a corner, with two houses facing Chiswick Street (No. 31 has a single-bay return on Currie Street) and one house facing Currie Street, which is now part of No. 31. Each house features a right panelled door with an overlight, while the former No. 2 Currie Street has a left door, all set in a pilastered surround and accessed by steps. The sash windows, some with glazing bars, are set in brick reveals with stone sills and flat brick arches. The interiors have not been inspected.
