Description

Pow Bank is a farmhouse built in the mid-18th century, with extensions added in the late 18th century. The structure is made of coursed red sandstone rubble, featuring igneous split-cobble headers and flush quoins. It has a graduated greenslate roof and sandstone and brick chimney stacks. The building stands two storeys high and consists of two bays, with a contemporary extension at a lower roof line extending at right angles to the rear, along with further extensions from two different periods under a common roof. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set in painted stone surrounds. The extension includes a 20th-century door in a painted stone surround to the right and a 20th-century glazed porch over the entrance to the left. The adjoining outbuildings are not of interest.
