Description
Whitrigg is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century. It is constructed from dressed red sandstone and features a string course and V-jointed quoins. The building is topped with a graduated greenslate roof that has coped gables and kneelers, along with ashlar chimney stacks. The farmhouse has two storeys and three bays. The front includes a 20th-century door set in a quoined surround beneath a keyed lintel with a hood. The windows are sash style with glazing bars; the ground floor windows are double and all are framed in stone surrounds. At the rear, there is a 19th-century extension that has double sash windows.
