Description

Ratten Row is a farmhouse dating to 1754. The building is constructed of dressed red sandstone with a graduated slate roof and two chimney stacks, one of stone and one of brick. It is a two-storey, three-bay structure with raised quoins and plain window surrounds. The entrance has a moulded surround, a carved false keystone, and a moulded cornice. Above the entrance is a dated sundial with a moulded stone surround and Roman numerals, with the numbers picked out in black. All windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The front door is a four-panel design. Decorative wrought iron scrolls are present on the gutter. The listing does not include any associated farm buildings.
