Description
Newhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century or early 19th century, with a rear extension added in the mid-19th century and alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed from squared and coursed sandstone rubble and features a hipped slate roof, along with later brick additions at the back. The original house is single depth with a central entrance and end stacks, facing west, and has further additions to the rear.
The building stands three storeys high and has a brick dentilled eaves cornice. There are three windows: on the second floor, there are 2-light casements, while the first and ground floors feature cross-casements with flat arched heads and pronounced lintels. To the left of the central entrance, there is a canted bay added, which includes an overlight above an open porch and a six-panelled door.
