Description
Solway View is a house that likely dates from the 17th century or early 18th century, with some additions made in the 19th century. The ground floor features painted rendered clay walls supported by large projecting footing stones, and the height was raised with brick during the 19th century. The house has a slate roof and a brick chimney stack. It is two storeys tall and has three bays, with a kitchen extension outshut at the front. The left lower end bay of East End Cottage is now part of this property. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, set in painted stone surrounds, and there are three-pane sashes above. The outshut includes a side plank door in a wooden surround and a small casement window at the front. There is also a plank door and a small casement window to the left, which share a common roof with East End Cottage. The building is listed partly for its group value with The Post Office.
