Description
Hindsmount Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with 19th-century extensions. It features roughcast walls on a painted chamfered brick plinth, and the extensions are made of painted brick. The cottage has steep old red tile roofs and is a small, two-storey building with two cells and an end chimney, originally designed with a central entrance facing south. There is an internal gable chimney at the west end, and an added external chimney on the east end for a formerly unheated room. The south front has two windows on each floor and a recess where a central doorway has been blocked. The windows are two-light casement types with external shutters, and there are segmental arches over the ground floor windows. The cottage is included for its group value.
