Description
Prior's Wood Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of flint rubble with brick quoins and features a gabled and half-hipped roof covered with old tiles. The original end stack is made of brick. The cottage has a two-unit plan and is one storey with an attic, presenting a two-window range. There are brick soldier arches above a 20th-century door and casements, along with a 20th-century porch and raking dormers. To the right, there is a brick one-bay extension that shares the same roof. Inside, the cottage includes chamfered beams and joists, a chamfered bressumer over an open fireplace, quarter-turn stairs, and a queen-post roof with clasped purlins.
