Description
Bartletts is a house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of flint rubble with brick dressings, featuring brick on the sides and a combination of flint, chalk, and reused 16th-century brick at the rear. The roof is covered with old tiles and has brick stacks. The house has a two-unit plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range. There are segmental brick arches above an 18th-century plank door, which is accompanied by a cast-iron porch from the mid-19th century and flanking 20th-century three-light casements. The first floor features late 19th-century two-light casements. A raised brick storey band and dentilled eaves add to the architectural detail, along with a 20th-century roof dormer. The gabled roof has symmetrical end external stacks. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
