Description
The terrace wall, balustrade, and flights of steps are located approximately 10 meters west of the garden front of Overstone College. Likely designed by W.M. Teulon, the structure is made of squared coursed lias and limestone ashlar. The terrace retaining wall features ashlar coping and includes three flights of ashlar steps. The steps on the far right have ashlar balustrades that connect to the main house, with a corner pier topped by an urn. This feature is part of a formal arrangement that includes a terrace wall and gate about 40 meters west of the garden front, as well as a flight of steps approximately 20 meters to the north and south-west of the garden front. It is included for its group value with Overstone College.
