Description
Court Lodge and No. 2 Court Cottages are a pair of houses that were originally a coachhouse, built in the mid-19th century. The building features regular coursed lias stone with ashlar dressings. The central block is two storeys high and has a five-window range, which includes a mix of one-, two-, and three-light stone mullion windows with cast iron glazing bars. The ground floor has a five-bay arcade with four-centred arches, which were originally entrances to the coachhouses. There is a central gable above the main entrance. On either side of the central block are similar single-storey wings. At the rear, there is a square central tower topped with an octagonal stone turret and a cupola. This building was originally part of a group of estate service buildings that included the Court House, The Dairy, and Whistlefield.
