Description

Tower Court is a stable block, now converted into houses, dating from 1862. Constructed from squared coursed lias stone with ashlar dressings and a slate roof, it originally formed part of the stables for Overstone Hall. The building follows a courtyard plan and is two storeys high in part. The main range has a five-window facade, with a central carriage arch, above which is a small tower topped with a pyramid roof and lantern. Ground floor windows are sash windows with ashlar surrounds. The tower has a triple sash window with an ashlar surround. Dormer windows feature ashlar open pediments with ball finials. A clock is housed within the tower and is surrounded by ashlar, below which is a datestone. The building was undergoing conversion to residential use at the time of inspection.
