Description
The terrace wall and steps located west of The College are likely from the late 17th century. The wall is constructed from random red sandstone rubble and features a moulded coping. The steps are made of ashlar and have closed balusters, complemented by two square piers. One of the piers is topped with a brass sundial that has the Latin inscription "TRANSIT HORA SINE MORA." This structure serves as a retaining wall for the terrace and runs the full length of the rear of the house. It is included partly for its group value with The College.
