Description

The stable block south of The College is an early 19th-century structure built for the Fetherstonhaugh family. It features coursed red sandstone rubble walls and roofs made of red sandstone and Welsh slate, topped with crow-stepped gables. The building is two storeys high and consists of numerous bays that enclose a stable yard on three sides. The central block has a large round-arched entrance, while the flanking wings include 20th-century sliding garage doors, plank loft doors, and slit vents, with open bays on the left wing. This building is listed partly for its group value with The College.
