Description
Brampton Hill Farmhouse is a mid-19th century farmbuilding located approximately 75 metres south of the farmhouse itself. It was constructed by the Spencer family and features squared coursed lias with a slate roof, designed in an H-plan layout. The north face has a central block that is two storeys high, flanked by single storey ranges. There is a central door with windows on either side and a hay loft door above, all topped with simple pediments. Each flanking wing has a central stable door with windows to the left and right, and all openings have flat arch heads. Notably, there are remains of a clock face in the pediment. At the rear of the central block, there is a single storey range of cart sheds, with a range of barns attached to the south. The buildings at the rear have undergone 20th century alterations. The Spencers were prominent agriculturalists in the 19th century, and this building represents a part of a range of unaltered commercial farm buildings.
