Description
Nos. 122 and 124 on Watling Street East are a pair of shops dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings are timber-framed and feature a plain-tile roof from the 20th century, with a brick end stack on the left side. They have a one-unit plan and rise two stories with an attic, displaying a two-window range. The ground floor has 20th-century shop fronts, while the first floor of No. 124 features two lattice casement windows, and the first floor of No. 122 is rendered. Each shop has one hipped roof dormer. The interiors have not been inspected. Both buildings were originally jettied, and the jetty on No. 124 was restored during the 20th-century renovations.
