Description
Nos. 205 and 207 Watling Street West are early 19th-century offices that were formerly shops and dwellings. The buildings have been altered in the 20th century and are constructed of stuccoed brick with slate and ridged tile roofs, featuring a cut-down brick ridge stack. They have a two-unit plan, standing two storeys high with an attic and a two-window range.
The ground floor includes canted bay windows, with No. 205 featuring a 20th-century door with an overlight and a bracketed cornice or hood. No. 207 has a 19th-century part-glazed door framed by thin pilasters and a moulded wood door surround, along with channelled rustication. On the first floor, there are 16-pane sash windows with bracketed hoods and pilaster strips at the ends and center. The buildings also have a plinth, bracketed eaves, and dormer windows. They are included for their group value.
