Description
No. 126 on Watling Street East is a shop and dwelling built in the early 19th century. The building features a stuccoed brick exterior with slate roofs and brick stacks at each end. It has a two-unit plan and stands three stories tall with a two-window range. The ground floor showcases a 19th-century shop front, which is flanked by Ionic pilasters that support brackets and a dentilled wood cornice. Above, the first floor has canted bay windows, while the attic floor is adorned with 12-pane sash windows. The façade is further enhanced by three giant Ionic pilasters on the first and second floors, which support a plain entablature and a plain stone-coped parapet. The interior has not been inspected.
