Description

Nos. 1 and 2 are two mid-18th century houses located on the south side of Cottesbrooke. They are built from squared coursed lias and feature thatched roofs. Each house has a two-unit plan and is a single storey with an attic, together forming a five-window range of casements with glazing bars set under wooden lintels. The central entrance to each house has 14th-century ribbed doors with wooden lintels. No. 1 has a 20th-century window and lintel at its entrance. Both houses feature eyebrow dormers, ashlar gable parapets with kneelers, and brick stacks at the ridge and ends. There are 20th-century extensions to the rear, and the roof structure is supported by butt purlins.
