Description
Nos. 8 and 9 are two houses that date from the mid-18th century and were remodeled in the mid-19th century. They are constructed from squared coursed lias stone and feature a plain tiled roof laid in patterned bands. Each house has a single-unit plan and stands two storeys high, together forming a two-window range with casement windows that have glazing bars and wooden lintels. The central entrances are flanked by 19th-century porches and lead to plank doors. There is a brick chimney stack at the ridge and one at the end. These houses are an example of 18th-century architecture that was remodeled by the Holdenby estate in the 19th century.
