Description
Village Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble banded with limestone and features a pantile roof with flanking brick stacks. The building has two storeys and four bays. The entrance, located in the second bay from the left, has a wooden lintel, a four-panel door, and a tiled lean-to hood supported by wooden brackets. To the left of the entrance is a three-light window with a stone lintel and a 20th-century casement. To the right, there is a three-light stone mullioned window with a square hood. The right bay contains another three-light window with a square hood, a wooden lintel, and a 19th-century wooden casement. On the first floor, there are three-light windows with wooden lintels and old iron casements in the right and centre bays, while the left bay and the second bay from the left have two-light casement windows with wooden lintels. The roof has 20th-century alterations, indicated by a concrete band along the eaves. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to include an open fireplace and a bread oven.
