Description

Old Brooklands is an early 18th-century house located on the south side of Brook Street, Moreton Pinkney. A datestone reading 1710/MWE is visible. The house is constructed of coursed squared ironstone with ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof with brick and stone stacks. It is originally a three-bay, two-storey structure. The central doorway is framed in plain ashlar, with a keystoned lintel, and contains a six-panel door with an overlight. The flanking windows have plain ashlar frames, keystones, lintels, wood mullions and transoms. The gable ends are coped with kneelers. An early 18th-century extension exists to the right, built of similar materials, and is one storey and attic with two bays. It has a two-light casement window with a stone lintel in the left bay, and a 20th-century plate glass window with a wood lintel to the right. A further 18th or 19th-century extension is attached to the left. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
