Description
The farm buildings at Field Burcote Farmhouse, built around 1840, form a U-shaped plan enclosing three sides of a yard at the rear of the farmhouse. They are constructed from coursed squared ironstone and feature a hipped roof made of slate and corrugated iron. The main range, which faces the farmhouse across the yard, includes a barn with central double-leaf doors. To the right is a former granary, which has a four-bay cart standing area below, supported by timber posts at the rear and timber lintels that hold up the red brick front wall of the first floor. To the left, there is a former stable and hayloft. These three buildings share a roof, while the lower return wings have been converted into stores and piggeries. This complex is part of a model farm.
