Description

This is probably a former blacksmith’s forge, likely used to service horses that pulled boats, and now serves as a store room. The building dates to around 1800. It is constructed of painted brick with an old tile roof and a central brick stack. The single-storey structure has four bays, with flat-arched brick frames around the windows and doorway. A plank door is located in the left bay, and three 24-pane windows are on the right. A brick dentil cornice runs along the top. A 20th-century garage doorway, with a wooden lintel, is set into the right side. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included in the listing for its group value.
