Description
Methodist Chapel, dated 1835. The building is constructed of squared coursed lias with a slate roof. It is a single-unit chapel featuring a vestibule and a gallery. The gable front facing the road has a central set of double doors with six panels, pointed heads, and an ashlar surround. On either side of the doors are windows in similar openings that showcase intricate Y-tracery. The central window on the first floor also has a pointed head and an ashlar surround, with a blank upper section and a casement with glazing bars in the lower section. The roof is steeply pitched with ashlar gable parapets. There is an inscribed tablet in the center of the gable that reads, "Wesleyan Methodist Chapel Erected MDCCCXXXV". The right side elevation features sash windows with glazing bars, while there are late 19th-century extensions on the left. At the rear, a pair of windows has similar tracery to those at the front.
