Description

Bay Tree Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed lias stone and features a plain tiled roof added in the 20th century. The building has a three-unit plan and is two stories high, with a three-window range of casements that have leaded lights and are set beneath wooden lintels. To the right of the center, there is a plank door also under a wooden lintel, while a 20th-century glazed door is located to the left. A brick chimney stack is positioned at the ridge. The gable end facing the road includes 19th-century casements under wooden lintels. Although the interior has not been inspected, it is noted to contain two open fireplaces with bressumers.
