Description
The Cottage is a house dating from around 1800, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a plain-tile roof with brick stacks at either end. The building has a two-unit central-staircase plan and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a six-panel part-glazed door framed by a moulded wood surround, set within a gabled open timber porch. The ground and first floors have 19th-century sash windows, each with stop-chamfered wood lintels. To the right, there is a one-storey, one-window extension topped with a pantile roof. Inside, the hall is stone-flagged, and the early 19th-century moulded wood surrounds can be seen around the fireplaces in the ground floor rooms, along with a truss roof.
