Description

BROCKHALL SP66SW 5/44 Manor Farm, cottage used as 18/01/68 outbuilding (Formerly listed as Cottage, barn and stable at Manor Farm) GV II Former cottage. Dated 1651, restored 1969. Coursed squared ironstone, plain tile roof. One unit plan. 2 storeys and attic; one-window range. Side to lane has 2-light ovolo mullion window to left, a blocked window to right with timber lintel, and a 1-light window to first floor left with moulded stone surround. Left gable end has 1-light window with moulded stone surround and hood mould to ground floor, a 2-light ovolo mullion window with hood mould to first floor and small round window with stone tracery of 3 mouchettes. Right gable end has 3-light chamfered mullion window to ground floor with double chamfered surround and hood mould, a similar window to attic, and 3-light ovolo mullion window to first floor, all with leaded lights; datestone inscribed RCM/1651 in gable, modern datestone above. Entrance to rear; plank door with timber lintel. Stone coped gables with kneelers and finials.
