Description
The Gate House is a house built in the late 18th century, with a rear extension added in the late 19th century. It is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with a brick end stack. The building has a two-unit central staircase and passage plan, and it stands two storeys tall with a three-window range. The central entrance consists of a four-panel door set within a 19th-century gabled brick porch. This door is flanked by three-light leaded casement windows on both the ground and first floors, with a similar two-light window located above the door. All windows and the door are topped with stop-chamfered timber lintels, and the eaves are brick nogged. Inside, the property features stop-chamfered spine beams, a stone-flagged passage, and a staircase with slender turned balusters. The building is included for its group value.
