Description
The statue of Licurgus is located approximately 100 metres south-west of Cottesbrooke Hall. It was likely created in the mid-18th century by P. Scheemakers and is made of limestone, with the artist's name inscribed at the base. The statue was moved from Stowe in 1938 and is part of a group that includes statues of Homerus, Epaminondas, and Socrates, which are associated with the gate piers and gates located about 40 metres south-west of Cottesbrooke Hall.
