Description

The statue of Socrates is located approximately 44 metres south-west of Cottesbrooke Hall. It was likely created in the mid-18th century by P. Scheemakers and is made of limestone, with the name inscribed at its base. The statue was moved from Stowe in 1938 and is part of a group that includes statues of Homerus, Epaminondas, and Licurgus.
