Description

Stone Works Farmhouse and its attached outbuilding are a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. The building is constructed of limestone ashlar with hipped slate roofs and brick stacks at the rear. It has an L-shaped plan and is two stories tall with a three-window range. The central entrance features a four-panel door with a fanlight, set within a rusticated stone surround. The ground and first floors are fitted with 16-pane sash windows that have stone lintels and keyblocks. The facade includes a plinth, a storey band, moulded stone eaves, and a blocking cornice. The central bay projects slightly and is topped with a pediment inscribed with "BLISWORTH/STONE WORKS."

To the right, there is a single-storey, five-bay wing that has a central 20th-century door in a porch supported by Tuscan columns and a plain entablature. The windows in this wing are flanked by plain pilasters and feature segmental-arched heads with raised keyblocks, along with an imposts band and moulded stone eaves. A two-storey wing at the rear left, possibly an extension, contains a sash window, a 20th-century door, and other 20th-century windows.

The attached single-storey outbuilding has an L-shaped plan, a hipped slate roof, and is open to the yard at the rear of the house, supported by Greek Doric columns. The interior has not been inspected. The Blisworth stone quarry, which opened in 1821, was part of the Northamptonshire estates owned by the Dukes of Grafton.
