Description

Nos. 16/18 and 20 on Stoke Road are a row of three cottages, now functioning as two, dating from the early to mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. The cottages are constructed from coursed limestone rubble, with No. 20 partly rendered. They feature a thatched roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and is two stories high, presenting a three-window facade. There is a 20th-century door located to the right of the center, which has a wooden lintel above it. The ground floor has 20th-century two-light casement windows, also with wooden lintels. The first floor features two-light casements set in eyebrow dormers. The entrance to No. 20 is located at the rear. Inside No. 16, there is an open fireplace with a chamfered bressumer.
