Description

The Blisworth War Memorial is a Portland stone cross located near the chancel of St John the Baptist Church. It stands 3 metres high and features an IHS carving within the cross head. The memorial has a stepped, three-stage plinth. The east faces are inscribed with the words "TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND IN MEMORY OF THOSE / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-18 / GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS" along with 23 names. The north face of the middle stage is inscribed with "1939 – 1945 / (2 NAMES)."
