Description
Peverel Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage located on the north side of Blisworth High Street. It was altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The cottage is built of coursed limestone rubble, partly banded with ironstone, and has a 20th-century plain-tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It has a two-unit plan and originally had a two-window front. A blocked door is located to the right of the centre, above a wooden lintel, and a 20th-century casement window sits to the right of the ground floor. A small fire window is to the left of centre and an old two-light leaded casement window is to the ground floor left, all with wooden lintels. Small two-light ovolo-moulded stone mullion windows are set into the first floor, though the mullions have been removed and replaced with casements. Inside, the cottage features spine beams and an open fireplace with a cambered bressumer.
