Description

High House Farmhouse and its attached outbuildings date from the 18th and 19th centuries. The buildings are constructed from coursed gritstone and coursed squared gritstone, featuring gritstone dressings. They have a stone slate roof with a stone ridge stack and a gable end stack. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with a double fronted section on the left that has quoins. The central doorway has a plain stone lintel and jambs, with a 2-light window on each side, featuring square section mullions. Above, there are two 2-light windows with recessed chamfered mullions and surrounds.

To the right, the outbuildings are under a continuous roof made of squared stone. There is a doorway on the ground floor with a stone lintel and jambs, and a small window to the right. Above, there is a single window with a stone lintel, sill, and jambs. Further right, there are additional two-storey outbuildings with a lower roof. The ground floor has a window with a stone sill and lintel, along with a cart entrance to the right. Above, there are two similar windows. The west gable end wall has an extra dry stone wall built against it, while the north elevation has no openings. In front of the house, there is an attached drystone garden wall.
